3/29/12 - Merrimack Valley Career Resource Specialist Receives Success-at-Work Award

On Thursday, March 29th Michelle Trombly, a Career Resource Specialist in our Merrimack Valley, Massachusetts market, was awarded a Success-at-Work Award at a team meeting at the Longhorn Steak House in Haverhill. The award, which was presented by Steve Wood, was presented following a wonderful description of Michelle's work by Evelyn St. Hilaire, our Merrimack Valley director, who nominated her. In making her nomination, Evelyn highlighted Michelle's commitment to several individuals and specifically her work with Christine. Here is a condensed piece she wrote about Michelle's commitment to Christine:

Photo of Michelle Trombly, CRS in Merrimack Valley, receiving a Success-at-Work Award from Steve Wood "A great example…is the natural supports Christine has at the Starbucks in Haverhill. Everything started when Michelle worked with the new manager and Christine through the retention plan meetings so he could learn more about Christine's role to the point that this manager has added more responsibilities to Christine's job and has challenged her to go to him when any questions or challenges arise. Michelle has done this not only with the manager, but also, with Christine's co-workers. Michelle accomplished this in a very creative and unique manner. She supported Christine in inviting her co-workers come to her open house, which she attended as well. Not only she went on a Saturday (which is her day off) but also made it possible that Christine's co-workers took a day off to go and learn more about Christine outside of work. This visit turned into a great outcome since Christine felt more comfortable approaching her coworkers with any work related questions, instead of her approaching Michelle who is at the job site for the most part of Christine's shift. Not only she felt more comfortable approaching them, but they felt more comfortable with Christine as well. This was their feedback, 'Michelle I am so glad you reminded us about attending Christine's open house, it was great to know Christine outside of work and learn more about her and who she is outside of Starbucks'."

In making the presentation Steve Wood presented Michelle a certificate which read: Work Opportunities Unlimited, Inc. honors Michelle for demonstrating many core values and especially "we believe in individual initiative and dignity." Michelle's persistence and supportive communication style has helped several clients be successful in the Merrimack Valley. Of special note is her work with Michelle and her supportive co-workers at Starbucks. Michelle's helpfulness and commitment make her a great teammate and a Success at Work! The "Success-at-Work" award, which began in 2000, periodically honors and recognizes team members who have delivered outstanding service to our clients that is consistent with the Company's core values. Congratulations, Michelle!
